Ingredients

  • 1 Kg Mutton

  • 1/2 Kg Yogurt (Home made)

  • 2 Medium Onions, Thinly sliced

  • 1 Tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste

  • 1 Tsp Salt

  • 1 Tsp Red Chili Powder

  • 1 Tsp Turmeric Powder

  • 1 Tsp Mustard Seeds ( Rai dana)

  • 1 Tsp Fenugreek Seeds (Methi dana)

  • 1 Tsp Nigella Seeds ( Kalonji)

  • 1 Tsp Fennel Seeds (Saunf)

  • 2/3 Cup Clarified Butter (Desi Ghee)

  • 3 Cups Water (Approximately)

Method

Wash the Mutton thoroughly.

Put everything in pressure Cooker and give pressure according to your cooker cooking time. Mutton should be just cooked when you release pressure of cooker.

Keep it on very low flame for at least 20 minutes. Check mutton after 20 minutes it should be very tender.

The gravy should be thick and oil separated when you remove it from stove.

Notes

  1. Take fresh fresh Mutton.

  2. Do not skip any spice as it will effect the taste.

  3. You can alter the quantity of yogurt as per your taste, as some people do not like too much Khatai (sour flavor).

  4. Do not stir the meat while on low flame as it can break the meat pieces into fragments, thus, spoiling the look of dish.

  5. You can replace Mutton with Beef or Chicken, adjust cooking time accordingly.
